A Brief History of Mini Cooper
The Mini is one of the most iconic vehicles in the world, and has been since the 1960’s. It is a very popular vehicle all around the world, and has also achieved great success in racing.
The first Mini car was introduced in 1959, and marketed under the British Motor Corporation’s two brand names, Austin and Morris, until 1969, when Mini became its own brand name. The Mini changed little over the years, with the company only making minor changes to the vehicle, such as adding automatic transition and upgrading suspension.
In the 1990’s, BMW bought the rights to the Mini brand name, and re-launched the line using special editions and other innovations. In 2001, the company introduced the New Mini. The car proved to be very popular and sold over one million units worldwide. The company is currently working on the next generation of Mini Coopers for 2014.
