The starter is an often overlooked car part, despite its importance. At K & M Auto Service, we deal with starter problems all the time. We can quickly diagnose exactly what is causing your starter to malfunction and get you back on the road. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with the battery, wiring and the starter itself that can prevent your engine from turning over and your car from starting. Back in the early 1900s, you had to pull on a hand crank to get your engine to start. That all changed with the invention of the electric starter. Now it is easier than ever to start your car, but only if your electric starter and all of its components are working correctly.

Most people just assume that when their vehicle refuses to start, there must be a problem with the starter. However, the starter is rarely the cause of the problem. If your car won’t start, we will check to see if your battery is dead or if corrosion is interfering with the connection. We will also carefully check all of the wires and connections to and from your starter to make sure that the wires are in good shape and there is no corrosion present. If we go through all of our tests and evaluations and find that a faulty starter is in fact the problem, we will repair or replace it for you.
